Adam - I've played the guitar for years (flamenco is my passion!), but I've never come across such brilliant lessons as yours! I've just purchased my 4th from you - Bulerias. Can't wait! Thanks Adam. Martin

Thanks so much for your tireless dedication to your instructinoal videos. The lessons really help for those of us who, based upon where we live,(in my case, WI) are not able to access proficient instructors of the art. Your excellent tutorials that you provide through your approach to online learning are really the best that I've come across, and I've purchased many already as a result. Again, I can't thank you enough! Looking forward to a possible second edition to the Seguiriya lesson..

These videos are really good, just got back from Madrid and spent a week at a school but these video are just as good. Look forward to the new stuff.

The lessons are superb. I scruitinised a number of lesson sites before signing up with you guys and I honestly don't think an internet student could do better elsewhere.

Hey Adam,
I am very happy to say that (the upgrades to) your videos are incredibly good. To watch and hear you explain all the different aspects, a little music theory, exercises, and the music itself, in the beginner packages alone really feels magical, it all just builds up perfectly to the point where it comes together in a perfectly understandable way, just as well as any musical score would. My utmost gratitude for the time and effort you guys put in this, hope you guys keep at it for a long time to come, I will be right behind you trying to actually learn it all. :) Flamenco has a sound to me that .. speaks to me in a way no other music does, it's just that much more alive in my experience, not to say it's the only music I appreciate, but it most definitely resonates with me in a way no other music does. Thanks for the opportunity that allows me to bring it home :).

Hello Adam, my name is Oscar. A few months ago i subscribed to a few of your lessons for flamenco. Its really difficult to find an instructor here in phoenix. I must say your lessons are awesome. Just wanted to say thanks for taking time to create online lessons for people like myself. With a job, wife and kids, it makes it even more difficult to take lessons from someone. Flamenco is something i've always wanted to learn and ive learned a lot already from the website. Please keep up the great work, it is very much appreciated.

Thanks,

Adam's an excellent teacher and I will definitely be signing up for more lessons other than the one I am studying (and making progress in, I am pleased to say) at the moment. What I have discovered with your online lessons is that, because of Adam's relaxed presence and his own natural teaching style, it's actually a bit like learning from a real person and after a 2-hour session online, I'm playing with a completely different spirit than when I just practice alone.

I'm Ann Wells, I live in Virginia Beach, VA. I want to thank you, and tell you how excited I am about all I have learned from your video clips on, "understanding Flamenco". I am a former Ballroom dance competitor. I have a long music background, in fact, I studied piano at New England Conservatory of Music, in Boston, MA, where I'm originally from. I don't remember how I ever counted the music, it was so long ago. It's funny you mentioned that in your video.
Several years ago, I had a wonderful opportunity to study a little Flamenco with a woman from Spain, who actually brought Flamenco to the United States, New York. As a child, she made movies with John Wayne, dancing Flamenco on tables, and she choreographed dances to the poems of Frederico Garcia. I was told she was the world's greatest Flamenco dancer from Spain. I have watched her video more then 1,000 times and get so frustrated with trying to understand the rhythms in relationship to the dance. Until I downloaded your video clips on "counting the beats", I had no hope. It is the most beautiful dance but even with my trained ear, I could not learn how to count the music. I tried very hard but it was hopeless.
I love Flamenco because I have not had a dance partner in years, and with all my training I have to dance. I have combined all my dance knowledge and technique of Ballroom, ballet, and my favorite; Latin dances and practice in my studio at home and at the health spa, Bally's. I have been doing this for years and everyone loves it. I get lost in the music, I don't even notice anyone there. There has always been a deep desire within me to dance Flamenco and now I believe it may be possible, there is hope at last, because of you. Today I took out my cd by Carlos Montoya, and I counted the Solia perfectly without missing a beat!!! I can clap to it too!!! I got out my Flamenco dance shoes and am wearing them out. Thank you Adam, this is the greatest birthday gift I could have hoped for. Now I must work on my footwork, but it was not possible before. I was wondering if it would be possible to study more with you. I don't know where you are, but maybe I could visit or do something on-line. I need to learn more about the music and I love the way you explain it, I am able to learn from you. Please let me know if we can arrange something. You may be able to help me with some practice music also.

If I can get an in depth video lesson from you for each palo like you did for Bulerias and Tarrants, and then shorter follow up lessons to add additional falsetas and groove licks (that is what I call them for my students too), then I am pretty certain I will study Jazz Arranging at Graduate School at North Texas. Its so close and I can already play so it seems a little less beneficial to peruse the playing side of things in school.
The way you teach the libre forms is great too, Adam. And your licks are not technically very difficult, but full of modern duende. Up till now, all my material has been far more traditional (square). I really look forward to adding some more of your material to my repertoire.

PEACE,

Hi from London,

I just wanted to drop a line to say a big thankyou for these fantastic lessons. Having been a member for quite a while now, I am still getting a great deal of enjoyment from your lessons, and am improving slowly but progressively - plus, a brilliant stress buster! Adam, your teaching is superb, and matches my learning style well - I am really appreciative. So thanks once again. No need to reply, just keep up the good work!

my name is joachim Münzberg, i´m a subscriber to some of Your video lessons. First i would like to express my recognition for the exellent concept and the didactic performance in Your videos. I`ve been playing ( E - guitar) Jazz and more for at least 30 years and found my new passion in flamenco about 1 and a half year ago. My very first steps into flamenco started at the sacromonte with some local heros from granada who taught me the first essentials regarding technique, palos and so on. I took workshops by rafael cortez , marco palometas and others and attended regular lessons with a local Flamencoteacher in munich.Just returned from granada to weeks ago where i saw your flyer visiting a friend - manuel diaz- at cuesta gomerez. Your video lessons are much more instructive to me than any of the lessons i`ve had until now , and therefore - compared to the fees for teachers i´ve paid until now - a bargain. I recommended your lessons to many guitarplayers because they are instructive and useful even for those who are not aficionados. I`ve been practicing about 2 hours a day on average , so i think i`m no longer the absolute beginner. Still I signed up for your beginner package being shure to find some useful new ideas to help me through the tough times of lame progress.

I like what I see here. You are a great player. I’ve been playing classical for many years and have decided to study the flamenco style although I know Segovia would not approve. That’s okay. This is a beautiful style and I know I will enjoy my journey.

I studied with Christopher Parkening for many years so I am not a beginner however I am a beginner with flamenco.

Thank,

I'm glad I've found your site. As you see I'm a pretty good customer :)

I play jazz for over 20 years and I was looking for some new stuff to get away a little from the normal 'old fashion' jazz guitar playing I did so far. BTW I always played with the thumb not using a plectrum so nothing was closer then checking out the flamenco right hand technique.

I went to Spain (from where I write this mail right now) to find a teacher but as you can imagine it is quite a problem not speaking spanish very good and to find someone just show me the things I want to know from my view point as a improvising jazz musician. But finally I've found your site and I can pick exactly the things I want to know about flamenco technique and music. I saw your history journey on flamenco on YouTube and while I speak much better english as spanish this kicked me right out of my shoes. Exactly the things I was looking for. You do a very good job. I say this as a teacher for jazz guitar and I love the way you explain things same as I love the way how your own personal variations of the licks come into the material. This makes it very alive and gives a deep insight into the way of how emotionally you handle the compas or falsetas. One might say that one brain side cant really explain the other exactly but this is what it is all about I guess.

You completely served my needs. Thanks for that.

Hi Adam

I want to thank you for your Flamenco Beginer package. From here on out, I know I will develop my skills to play to my full potential. No more being lost on technique, and going in the wrong direction for years to come. No kidding around. I just took your advise on nail shaping, relaxing techiques, body and hand positioning, and I am already seeing major improvements in my playing. I am blown away, and see where all this is going. I look foward to getting your other lessons in the future.

Hello Adam

Just a note to say Bravo! and thank you for your wonderful Flamenco series. I am former pro-musician & teacher; studied with Barney Kessel, played with Art Pepper, John Lee Hooker, Ambrosia, many others and love listening to Flamenco guitar. I have been forwarding your name, URL and YouTube series to my friends globally, many of whom are top musicians themselves. For some reason Flamenco singing doesn't appeal to me at all. All the voices sound very similar, gritty and not very melodic. I have asked Spanish speaking friends for translations and learned most lyrics revolve around typical love and relationship events. Maybe I must study more Spanish to appreciate them. Here in Tokyo we have quite a loyal Flamenco community. I hope you can visit us someday. I would love to meet you.

Ciao,

Hi Adam,

Hope you dont mind me sending you a quick message, but I wanted to express my great thanks for your lessons on new learning vision. I noticed your free sample lessons on youtube and immediately went to the website. To cut a story short in a few short weeks im nearly finished the begginer package and am about to start on the Rasgueado package. I wanted to let you know that I think the videos are an invaluable resource for people like me who love flamenco, are desperate to improve their skills but dont have access to skilled teachers. They are pitched at exactly the right level and they make progress fun and easy, they also help with my basic theory knowledge as this is something I've always found difficult to follow. Honestly, thank you very much for your lessons, I intend to complete them all, and will be looking forward to any more that are on the horizon, which hopefully there are! Thanks again and best of luck for the future!

Kind regards

Thanks Adam and everyone involved with the lessons. They're great. I appreciate your attention to detail in the right hand and the only thing I would like to see in more detail and closer up is the placement of the left. Otherwise all I've really got to complain about is not doing this sooner.

I hope the site is worth all your efforts and that you're enjoying the rewards of all your hard work. I know how difficult a project as ambitious as this must be. Keep up the good work.

Hi Adam,

I wanted to say your video lessons are fantastic. Easy to watch and learn as often many video lessons can get boring and repetitous. You have a great way of getting the material across to the viewer and you also touch on a few things that often are neglected in other "methods".

Ola! Adam.

I have just signed up for the Buleria package on New Learning Vision and found it to be an excellent course of study, after many times trying to unravel the complexities of the Buleria I am finally making progress thanks to your clear and concise method of teaching. I was wondering if you plan to do any more online courses on other 'Palos' or more complicated compas and falseta's already covered.

Many Thanks, Gary Barber

Hi Adam,

I am working through some of your online lessons....sweet!
This is a good path to be on. When I see you for private study I should have some of your style understood.
Thanks! You are a great teacher/player...this is rare.

Hello, Hola

The lessons (Bulerias) are unbelievable- I love them! I first learnt Buleria de Jerez in Jerez when I was young and had time to travel like that. These lessons are the next best thing, and are very similar to the great teaching I had out there. It is otherwise so hard to learn basic compas (plenty of falseta collections but few compas collections out there!!).

Hello Mr. Adam

believe me when I tell you that "YOU ARE THE BEST FLAMENCO TEACHER". I've saw many , you have the master key, it is "talent of feeling when teaching" you are intelligent ;) ,,,, I would be so happy if you turn the light on the cante accompaniment, showing the chords and cliches how to response the cantaor, in palos's and you know the rest and what i am talking about ;)) I feel like i want to spend 10 years into playing cante accompaniemt, you can see the "Encuentro video production - Merengue de cordoba II" he show many palos's, he is also a great master and so nice video, but I know that you got fresher feeling than him ;) have nice time :)

Hola Adam,I can tell you with certainty that NOW I can have my dream come true (since infancy, I dream of playing Flamenco) but I never put my dream into action because I did not know where to start. Your vidio lessons make it possible for me to learn at my own pace from the comfort of my house. I know that I can learn how to play because I have the Flamenco sound abiding in my hear since I was a child, I just need to learn how to expreses in the guitar and I now seek to do that though your lessons.

Hi Adam

Found your site and what a find it has turned out to be. I've played guitar for a number of years and tinkered with flamenco in a 'I would like to play it properly one day' way. I took the plunge and had some lessons from a guy who has now returned to Spain. That really helped to have someone to tell me what I was doing wrong. So very basic. I only had a few lessons though. I then found flamenco-teacher.com whose lessons were good too and I've supplemented them by learning with Juan Martin's dvd and book and cross between the two. Little bit here and a little bit there. I felt that I had reached a plateau and really needed some help in consolidating what I sort of know but didn't quite understand. I really wasn't sure what I would get from your beginner package but whatever it was it is now making a whole lot more sense. It's cemented what I knew or thought I knew, maybe it was latent knowledge, somewhere inside me waiting to shout 'eureka' from the rooftops. Your lessons have helped unlock the door and brought together all the bits I've learned. So thank you. I shall continue with all your lessons but I want to work on what I've gained from you so far.

Hi Adam,

Your online classes are amazing!

I have been on and off struggling to play flamenco for years. Only since I have begun your courses have I started to truly understand the phrasing of the compas and the spirit of modern flamenco. I am excited by the progress that I make each day and have a clear path to follow with your video instruction. I am looking to find other flamenco guitarist to jam with. I think that an online message board attached to your web site would offer your students a way to communicate and potentially practice together either online or in the real world. This type of message board may also help drive more traffic to your site as well. Is this something that has been under consideration? If New York is ever a part of your tour schedule, I'll be sure to attend.

All the best,
-Geoffrey L.

My name is Aldo Perez, guitarist from NYC.

I am a former Flamenco student of Enrique Vargas and long time pupil of Jorge Morel.

Enrique left NY for Spain some years ago and I have been a steady performer in the nightclub and theater scene but recently have been looking for a Flamenco teacher in NYC with no luck!

I came across your video lessons and am very impressed and excited by them! I can clearly hear how you bring a clarity from your classical playing to the soulfulness of your Flamenco and visa versa.

I'm going to play through and study all of the packages and thank you deeply for putting them together so well.

My mother is from Spain and I have always had a desire to deepen my connection to this music without feeling like I'm pretending to be anything but what I am, an American of sorts. If you wish to glimpse my work go to theaterthe.com or google my name (many complaints!)

I just wished to say thank
